THE “MACQUARIE WAY” OF TREATMENT

Doctors at Dalcross and Macquarie University Private Hospitals believe that there is an advantage in a team approach to patient care.  At Macquarie we believe in providing the safest and most competent care possible.  To achieve this, we have built a team of doctors with decades of combined experience in Medicine and Surgery who are committed to improving patient care.  As our patient, you will have access to all of the skills and experience that the team approach brings.

Our clinicians have trained in Australia, England, Europe, Canada and the USA, and have extensive experience in the management of patients with the most complex disorders.  The doctors at Macquarie are considered leaders in their field.  Macquarie doctors have demonstrated a commitment to life-long learning, and to providing patients with the highest standard of care possible.

Our teams meet weekly to discuss patient care, recent technical developments in medicine and current research underway at Macquarie.  Our patients benefit from the knowledge obtained through these shared ideas.

During your consultation, you may have been seen by one of our Macquarie University scholars as well as your chosen doctor.  These scholars are surgeons or physicians, some of whom have come from overseas, working towards higher qualifications at Macquarie University, and they form a valuable part of the team.  Our scholars bring new ideas and skills to Macquarie. Collectively we all benefit from their involvement.

At Macquarie we believe that the benefits of a team approach should extend to all of our patients.  We regularly involve other members of the medical team in your care.  Your treatment generally consists of a series of specialised tasks for which the expertise rests with different members of the Macquarie team.  These specialised tasks may require different members of the team making a contribution to care to ensure your management is safely and competently performed. Due to the complexity of some surgical operations, it is not unusual for more than one of our scholars or surgeons to participate in your surgery.

If you have any questions regarding any aspect of your proposed treatment, then please ask your surgeon or one of the other scholars or surgeons involved in your care.

All of the members of the Macquarie medical team are here for your benefit.
